Kevin's Journal
Other People
So, I took a break.  Because I suck.

However, I am back on track now!  I joined  a gym (Urban Active)  and my plan allows me to go to any Urban Active Gym.  There are like 5 in the columbus area!  One is in Hilliard (that's the one I've gone to so far) and there's also one in Powell, Polaris, and Graceland (off morse rd/rte 23).  I probably won't go to any of the other ones.

I also bought myself an iPod Nano.  It has been AWESOME so far.  It has a pedometer, an alarm, a video camera, and loads of other cool stuff.  I did about 3500 steps at the gym thsi morning!

I'm so proud of myself, because I went  to the gym this morning.  I got up early(ish) and went before work, and I feel awesome.  I was there about an hour, and still made it to work with 13 minutes to spare.  I am going to try to keep it up every day this week.  That's the goal.  Get myself into a routine.

Chris and Lisa are also members of the same gym, so we're going to try and keep each other accountable.

So wish me luck!  Hopefully these new additions will help me further my journey into the land of the healthy.

I've also decided on another major life change.  I want to go back to school.  Lisa and I went to an "open house" thing at Columbus State (CSCC) on saturday monring, and it looks like it is going to be doable.  They have a Chef Apprenticeship program.  The goal is to enroll in the spring semester.  I need to speak with an advisor about the timeline and what I'll be able to do with working and school and payments and everything.  One thing that is both awesome and TERRIFYING to me, is that the program places you, as an apprentice, into a local restauranta as part of the classes.  Oh, and it's a PAID apprenticeship.  So that's cool.

All in all, it's been a good day so far.

  • 21:02 CBS your online video player is absolutely terrible. It's been terrible since you launched it four years ago. Ugh. It's so frustrating. #

I swear if I didn't know better, I would think all of you were in on some elaborate joke where you all were pretending that the super flu a la The Stand was infecting everyone. I just keep waiting for people to start posting about how everyone is dying, and how you've each felt a pull to some city in the US depending on your goodness/evilness.

I hope you all get better. :(
I'm sorry. No wonder people hate us. In perhaps the most egregious example of terrible rankings that I've ever seen, Oregon is now three spots (AP poll) and SIX spots (Coaches' poll) behind USC despite:

1. Killing them only a week ago

2. Having the same record

3. Their two losses being to quality opponents

What the heck?

(Also, why is Ohio State ahead of USC in both polls?)
For those who might have missed it, McDonald's is serving the ribwich McRib here in Columbus. I have eaten two and I can vouch that they are amazing. I'm not sure how long they will be around.

7 November 2009 - Cal-OSU official armbands?
Anybody know why the crew working Cal - Oregon State are wearing light blue half-sleeves on their right forearms? They almost look like phiten sleeves, maybe some sort of prostate cancer awareness thing?

PS: I hope Jahvid Best walks again.

7 November 2009 - This is a fun game!
Navy stepping on Notre Dame! I wonder if Charlie has a seat cooler, it's got to be heating up.

21-7 just into the 4th.
7 November 2009 - So it has to be asked...
Michigan got off to a 4-0 start, after a lucky break to beat Notre Dame, and one of the worst calls of the season to beat Indiana. They have now lost 5 of their last 6, with the win being over Delaware State.

Are their games against Wisconsin and OSU going to serve as the RichRod Farewell Tour?
